Nutcracker '07

The girls performed in The Nutcracker this year. It was Sayer's second year and Ava's first. Sayer was a Candy Cane again this year and Ava was a Gumdrop. They had such a great time. Ava was on stage for about 10 seconds. I told my family if they blinked, they would miss her. But she was in Heaven. Lyds came with me to the second performance to watch the girls. I was talking to her during the show and she said, with all sincerity, "Aunt Wu, you smell like candy canes." I guess it could have been a lot worse! When I dropped off Lyds at my parents, she wanted to get in on the act and found an old "Stars" costume. David couldn't be outdone and dressed Isaac in the "Shimmy, shimmy" costume. Poor Isaac! Before David had kids, I told him I was making a list of all the ways he teased my kids so I could get back at him one day. Well, turns out I don't have to. David's got that job pretty much wrapped up.
