Wow!

The twins had their first official swim meet a few weeks ago. They have been swimming for the last two summers with the summer swim team and competing in those meets with other kids on their team. But this was the first meet where they competed with kids from all over northern Utah. We didn't quite know what to expect or how they would measure up to the competition but we were blown away. Since they were still 8 at the time (for 8 more days), they were still able to swim 25 meter events so before each event, I told them it was the last 25 they would ever swim and to get in and fly. They did. Cy took 2nd in the breaststroke and 4th in freestyle and Sayer took 1st in both the breaststroke and freestyle. I was so proud of both of them - they were awesome. Well, the Monday after the meet, I got online to look at the results and right on the team's home page, front and center, it said that Sayer now held the new team record for the 25 meter breaststroke. Wow! I looked at the record's page to see when the previous record was set and it was in December of 2001. So she broke a record that had been standing for 7 years. We were so excited, we called Sean who was in San Francisco on business to share the news and he was so excited too. Sayer called both grandmas. It was so fun! I am so proud of both of my little swimmers!
