We're in Trouble!

Yes, she has the face of an angel but don't be fooled. Ava has been worrying us lately, a lot. A few Sundays ago, she was sick with a really bad cough and I stayed home from church with her. As I was putting her to bed that night, I was tickling her back and I said, "Ava, I'm so sorry you're sick." Without thinking and also being half asleep, she replied right back, "I'm not!" I asked her why and she said, "I like being sick, then I don't have to go to church... it's boring!"

Then, a few days later, we were driving up to the twin's B/C Finale swim meet (where they both took 8th in the state in the 50 yard breast stroke, by the way) and I had made her a quesadilla to eat on the way up. She told me she didn't want to eat it and I told her that was lunch and to get eating. I looked back a few minutes later and her quesadilla was completely gone. I asked her where it was and she said, "I ate it!" When we arrived at the meet and got her out of her seat, there, under her bum, was her entire quesadilla. A little neighbor girl that was riding with us said, "Oh, she so did not eat it!" She has been fibbing to me A LOT lately... something the twins have yet to do. When I go to investigate her fib, she will try and physically stop me or she'll say, "Don't look in there!"

Then, the kicker. We were again at the twin's meet and waiting for the twins to change. We were sitting on a bench that had a huge window by it that looked into the leisure pool. Ava spotted a young teenage, overweight girl in a nasty bikini and here's how our conversation went:

Ava: "Mom, for my birthday I want a swimsuit that shows my tummy like that."
Me: "Oh Ava, Heavenly Father doesn't like us to show our tummies like that."
Ava: "Well, is Heavenly Father in there?"
Me: "No, but he can see us all the time and he knows what we're doing all the time."
Ava: "Well, I'll just pretend I'm somebody else!"

Like I said, we're in trouble!

Wow... that's pretty good Ava... I am 28 and I still hadn't thought of the whole "I'll pretend I am someone else and fool Heavenly Father" thing... tell me how that goes. And I wish you good luck Julie in your dealings with this.... if I remember right I was always the one that told the truth and you were always the one fibbing... so you should be able to handle this just fine.... if I remember right......
