Our Little Relay Race

So I was at the pool one fine Summer day just minding my business, taking Ava to the bathroom, when I ran into my friend Jen. She said, "Hey, would you and your husband be willing to swim a relay race with your twins at the next meet?" Well, my first reaction was to just say no! of course, but then I thought that it might be kind of fun and hopefully the twins would remember forever that their parents swam a relay with them. I was so nervous though and I made Jen meet me at the pool early one morning and help me with my stroke. I pitched the idea to Sean and he said no way. So it looked like I would be swimming a 50 and then the twins would each to a 25. Well, the big day came and we showed up for the meet and there was Sean's name right on the heat sheet front and center. So I called him and told him to bring his trunks. He said he would bring them but that didn't mean he would swim. He showed up with his little duffle bag but still wouldn't commit. Paul and Bonnie were there and Bonnie said, "Would you do it for a pan of Peanut Butter Fingers?" Sean said sure and it was a done deal. It was very fun, and just for fun... they didn't time anyone (I know we weren't first and I know we weren't last). It was all for the kids, I just tried to make all the spectators disappear and focus on my Michael Phelps moment. Sean and I both agree that it was our first, and last, swim meet.

Sean started us off.

CySayer finishing and Cy starting

I was the anchor and then we were finished (Thank goodness!)
