Nutcracker '09

Ava was a butterfly in the Nutcracker this year. She had so much fun and was so cute! Cy was sick (or so he says), and we missed him. Sean was just mad he never thought of that excuse when he was growing up! Wherever Ava goes, a funny story is bound to follow, and her performance was no exception...
Cole, my nephew, played Madame Ginger (The big tall lady with the big dress that all the little girls hide under.) Ava was getting ready to go on stage so they were taking her class from the holding room towards the stage. She saw Cole in his make-up, wig, and pink dress. Cole says she just kept staring and staring, like, "I know I know that person." Finally, he saw the light of recognition go off in her eyes and she announced to her whole class, "Hey look everyone! It's... it's... it's Aunt Cole!!" He died laughing and that's what everyone called him for the rest of the performance... "Aunt" Cole. Aw, we love Ava! Never a dull moment when that girl's around!
